Thank you, teachers, who have helped your students prepare for their recital performances. It is a joy to watch our students perform! We completed the first three recitals on Thursday the 18th, and have two more to go on Monday the 22nd.

Holiday Vacation & Off-Days
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year!
Our schools are closed for the holidays from Monday, December 22, 2025, through Friday, January 2, 2026. No regular lessons during this period. Lessons are ON starting Saturday, January 3. Note that our second day of winter recitals is on December 22, even though there are no lessons!
Q: When should I schedule my student’s Musical Ladder test?
A: Schedule each student’s Musical Ladder test well in advance, as soon as they have entered the ladder and you know when their next (projected) level advancement should take place. For new students, you should do this with them in their first lesson as part of their start-up activities. Get them excited for it! For ongoing students, you should do this right after they complete their test for their current level.
The result should be that every student always has a test scheduled for 3, 6, or 12 months out (depending on their level and the duration between levels). Remember, the date the student actually takes the test doesn’t have to be the exact date you selected, but it should be close. Students (and parents) should be eagerly anticipating their next level!
Remember that tests must be fun, rewarding, low-stress, related to milestones they are achieving, and impossible to fail! It’s not about the test, it’s about advancing to the next level, feeling really good about it, and receiving their certificate, wristband, and sometimes a trophy!
