Logan R. recently performed in his school’s talent show, Arya and Devyn P. both completed Level 10 of the Keyboard Theory series (started in 2019), and Sophia M., Daniel V., Colter T., and Bennett P., have all recently completed Book 1 and moved up to Book 2 of the Presto! It’s Piano Magic curriculum series.
Congratulations to these students and their successes!
Certificate of Merit Exams Completed!
Wish our participating students success! They will be receiving their results very soon! They have prepared for these events for many months, and in some cases all year!

Each student will receive a recital t-shirt, certificate, and fun gift bag! Sign up before April 5th here!
In addition to these performance opportunities, we also offer Forum over the first full weekend of each month, our Concert Performance Team (CPT), who perform monthly at locations throughout Orange County, Certificate of Merit, and the chance for more advanced students to put on their own solo recital. Q: Is the saxophone a brass instrument?
A: Although the saxophone is made of brass, it is classified as a woodwind instrument rather than a brass instrument. This can sometimes cause confusion, but the classification of instruments is based on how sound is produced rather than the material from which the instrument is made. The saxophone produces its sound using a single reed attached to a mouthpiece, much like the clarinet, which places it firmly within the woodwind family. Its tone production, fingering system, and playing techniques are closely related to other woodwinds. The saxophone is also remarkably versatile and appears in many musical settings, including concert band, orchestra, chamber music, and especially jazz. Understanding that the saxophone belongs to the woodwind family helps students approach the instrument with the correct techniques and musical expectations as they learn and perform.
