Providing Recital Repertoire
Have you firmed up your Christmas & The Holidays recital repertoire for all your students? Next week we will begin collecting that information!
Remember, every student should be learning and practicing repertoire for the recital, as if they are going to perform in the recital, even if they are not performing, or if you are unsure if they will perform.
Thanksgiving Week Off-Days
We are closed during Thanksgiving Week for regular lessons. Lessons are ON for Sunday, 11/23, and then OFF for Monday, 11/24 through Sunday, 11/30. No regular lessons over this period. (Happy Thanksgiving!)
Some teachers have special assignments during the off-week (such as introductory lessons and camps) – those lessons are ON, of course!
Lessons are back ON for everyone starting Monday, 12/1.
Be Confident to Ask Questions, Seek Help, and Request Gear!
We are here to answer your questions and provide help with whatever you need at the studio and beyond! One teacher recently requested rhythm sticks to be a part of our teaching aid collections, and so guess what? Rhythm sticks will soon begin appearing in each lesson room!
Music Lessons Start with Relationships
The most important results of music lessons do not really have anything to do with learning music. The most important results of music lessons involve the student’s experience: of kindness, of joy, of respect, of being seen, of being heard, of feeling loved.
Successful long-term learning always begins with a positive relationship and bonding between the student and the teacher. Developing this relationship can sometimes take time, effort, patience, and trust. It’s worth it!
Positive student-teacher relationships lead to improved academic performance, better behavior, greater social-emotional development, increased confidence, and in our case, more music-making.
Q: Do we have an employee discount?
A: Yes! Employees and their immediate families who wish to take music lessons at our studio can receive a) private individual lessons at the small group lesson rate, b) small group lessons at a 35% discount, and c) 50% off the annual registration and materials fee. Additional family/sibling discounts may also be available when there are multiple family members.
